And as I finish editing my last blog on developments in online payroll software and the new IRIS OpenPayroll offering, I check my twitter to see that IRIS have acquired Kashflow.
An excerpt from the press release, "IRIS Software Group, an industry champion in accountancy and payroll solutions, is delighted to announce that it has agreed to acquire KashFlow, the cloud-based bookkeeping software developer, in a move that will extend its position as a leading cloud software and services provider for the UK’s 4.8 million small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), and 30,000 accountancy firms."
With KashFlow now under the support, expertise and extended software network of IRIS, it certainly raises it's competitive strength in the market and ability to develop it's offering and attractiveness to small businesses across the UK.
A number of recent surveys on cloud technology that we have seen have cited integration of products and systems as being both a major incentive to adopt cloud solutions but also a potential major barrier to adoption also. For Kashflow, being acquired by IRIS certainly opens up further doors to expertise and integration.
In any case, at bestonlineaccounting it's great to see investment and collaboration between two key names such as this, if simply to raise the game - to increase the profile and accessibility of cloud accounting solutions to SME's, and to better the products that are out there for them has to be a good thing.
